HomeMy WebLinkAboutCorrespondence July 7, 1995 RE: CREEKSIDE CIRCLE STORM SEWER AND STREET IMPROVEMENTS CITY PROJECT 95-02 Dear Creekside Circle Property Owner: The stvuu sewer and street improvements for Creekside Circle are scheduled to begin in the middle of August, 1995. The City's Contractor will be S.M. Hentges & Sons, Inc., from Jordan, MN, and their phone number is 492-5700. The Contractor has indicated that it is his intention to actively pursue this project in an expeditious manner. The Contractor will be responsible for maintaining traffic within reason on the street during construction. The Contractor is to maintain driveway access for residents except for the days in which the concrete curb is being placed and is curing. Concrete needs three days of curing time to develop adequate strength for support of lighter vehicles such as cars. You will have to park your vehicles in the street during this time period. During the project construction, it will be necessary to relocate your mailbox in order to construct the improvements. The mailboxes will be relocated together in one location on the project by the Contractor. Your mailbox should have your house address number on the box so the mail carrier can properly deliver each resident's mail. The Contractor is responsible for reinstalling your mailbox after the concrete curb and gutter and bituminous pavement are installed. This project will reconstruct the street and restore driveways and boulevards to the extent that they are disturbed. If you want your driveway replaced beyond the City's construction limits, you will have to perform this work privately. It is our intention to complete the construction with as little inconvenience as possible to residents. During construction, please alert your children not to play in or near the streets, especially where heavy equipment is operating. If there are any questions, comments, or suggestions regarding this notice or the project, please feel free to contact the Prior Lake Public Works Department at 447-4230 for assistance. The Engineer for the City will be MSA Consulting Engineers, and their field office phone number is 440-9001. Their field representative on the project will be Dave Thompson. Your cooperation and patience are helpful and appreciated. ~w~ John Wingard, P.E. Assistant City Engineer CITY OF PRIOR LAKE cc: Jim Kephart, S.M. Also enclosed is an engineers estimate for the project. We have included the alternate bid schedules for the use of recycled Class 5, in hopes of reducing the project cost. As shown on the Plans, we are lowering the finished centerline elevation of both Ridgemont Avenue and Creekside Circle to one foot. We have not included insulation for watermain services in the bid schedule; since, the cover over the services should be approximately 6.5 feet deep, based on both the record drawings and field verification. RE: lNFORMA TIONAL MEETING FOR STREET AND UTILITY IMPROVEMENTS ON RIDGEMONT A VENUE AND CREEKSIDE CIRCLE Dear Property Owner: The City of Prior's engineering department will be conducting an informational meeting on the proposed street and storm sewer improvements for Creekside Circle, and for the sanitary sewer, watermain, street and storm sewer improvements on Ridgemont A venue. The meetings will be held in the Council Chambers on Wednesday, April 26, 1995, at the following times: Creekside Circle Ridgemont A venue 7:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. The City Council Chambers are now located at Fire Station No.1, at 16776 Fish Point-Road. See the attached map. This informational meeting is intended to provide the affected property owners in the project area an opportunity to review the construction plans. The informational meeting will be an informal meeting in which engineering. personnel will explain the scope of the project, and answer any questions in regard to the project. The purpose of this meeting is to discuss with the property owners the construction plans prior to requesting City Council approval to advertise for bidding of the projects. For the property owners on Creekside Circle the design now includes concrete curb. The design was modified to include the curb as the cost is similar to including a ditch and culvert system for drainage. If you have any questions, please call me or Paul Boettcher at City Hall (447-4230).
