AGENDA ITEM: PROCLAMATION DECLARING MAY 1, 2004 AS LOYALTY DAY IN PRIOR
LAKE.
PRESENTATION: For over 40 years, communities throughout the nation have, on May 1st,
celebrated Loyalty Day in honor of our ideals, traditions and heritage of freedom.
In these particular times of world unrest, when our military has been called to
duty, it seems particularly important to encourage the on-going support of our
troops and their families.
Loyalty Day activities in Prior Lake are co-sponsored by the Prior Lake VFW and
Ladies Auxiliary. VFW Commander Jim Speiker, Ladies Auxiliary President Marna
Muelken, Auxiliary Americanism Chairman Liz Speiker, and VFW Americanism
Chairman Mike McGahey will be present to receive the proclamation and discuss
the Loyalty Day program.
