History
As part of its mission, the EDAC conducts face-to-face business retention and expansion
(BR&E) visits with local company officials. Through these visits the EDAC is able to identify
challenges and opportunities for businesses in our community. The results of the BR&E
surveys should not only collect important information but provide opportunities for EDAC and
city staff members to follow-up with expansion and development assistance.
Current Circumstances
sage, and Welcome Avenue Industrial Park as the primary target area for BR&E surveys.
During the June 27 meeting, the EDAC reviewed a list of businesses in the BR&E survey
th
target area who have not been contacted to complete a BR&E survey. EDAC members
agreed that a face-to-face interview is important and decided to contact the remaining busi-
nesses and give them an opportunity to complete a survey. Committee members in attend-
ance volunteered to contact individual businesses and an EDAC member was assigned to
each of the remaining businesses.
Conclusion
As of September 23, 2013, the EDAC has completed 22 BR&E Surveys in the target area.
Two or three remaining surveys may be submitted over the next week or two.
