PREPARED BY: Casey McCabe, Community Development Specialist AGENDA ITEM: EDA UPDATES DISCUSSION: Introduction The EDA held its regular scheduled meeting on Monday, September 16, 2013. The EDA dis- cussed the following items on their agenda. 2014 EDA Budget with Technology Village Phase II Fiber Agreement Prior Lake, Scott County and Integra Downtown Parking Options Erie Avenue EDAC Business & Industry Forum Response and Action Plan County Highway 42 Study Conclusions History 2014 EDA Budget with Technology Village Phase II The EDA reviewed and approved the Technology Village Phase II Business Plan as well as a revised resolution adopting the proposed 2014 EDA budget and tax levy. The resolution will now be forwarded to the City Council for its 2014 budget review/approval pro- The 2014 proposed budget reflects some adjustments for personnel costs, legal and cess. professional services as well as funding for the SAC loan deferral program. Fiber Agreement Prior Lake, Scott County and Integra Mary Korthour, vice president and general manager at Integra Telecom, attended the meet- ing to provide an update on the current status of a cooperative fiber agreement with the City of Prior Lake, Integra and Scott County to extend fiber to certain city facilities and business parks within the City of Prior Lake. Downtown Parking Options Erie Avenue The EDA discussed options for additional parking along Erie Avenue. The discussion in- cluded the possibility of assisting with the cost for demolition of the vacant single family residential house in the rear of the Monnens Lumber Supply facility along Erie Avenue to create additional off-street parking or the addition of on-street parking on the east side of Erie Avenue. No decisions were made by the EDA to support the demolition of the house or additional parking. EDAC Business & Industry Forum (B&I) Response and Action Plan B&I Forum as well plimented the EDAC on their work a results on the EDAC website for meeting attendants and other residents and business own- ers. County Highway 42 Study Conclusions The EDAC received a summary of the County Highway 42 study conclusions and an up- date on the process to review and adopt the study. Conclusion Updates of EDA activity related to the above listed topics will be presented to the EDAC during the September 26, 2013 meeting. ISSUES: Update only. FINANCIAL None.
