Councilman Williams grated a grader and miscellaneous equipment he agreed with, a R
grader is to the benefit of everyone, 'coniidering the fact that it can remove snow and
ice at intersections and such that is on,the roads in the winter time,, it turns out to be
a safety factor, regarding the street sweeper he did not see why the City, wanted to get
into the competition with private contractors, and did not see why the iity wanted to
get involved in building a, bigL Street Deportment, ,

Mayor Stock stated that the City L is. now, paying $28.00 per hour faro N►eet sweeper `
��• _ and with the number of streets fhe City cannot even sweep them once with the amount
the City has budgeted for streets at that rate, and if the City" continues along the some
process all the City is doing is handing over their money to a contraclar2 when the City
could be making a payment on a street sweeper.
Councilman Wi) lams stated a Mr. Johnson from Minneapolis told him that the sheet
' sweeper was the highest maintenance item the City of Minneaplis owns and wanted
to know why the City was considering one.
' Engineer Anderson stated the amount of paved surface in the City is rapidly
increasing.
Administrator McGuire stated that lost year the City swept the streets twice and some F ''�

Councilman Busse stated that the Fire Department goes out and washes down Central

Mayor Stock directed the Administrator to contact Jim Olson to prepare the
necessary documents for the issuance of'.ronds.

Prior Lake, seconded by Busse and upon a vote oken it'was duly passed,,

Administrator\McGuire• presented a letter from Edna L. Maxwell regarding sewer and
water assessments being deferred. Mayor Stock recommended that this be tabled until

'~ the next Council meeting and Mayor Stock and Councilman Oakes will meet Ath Mrs.

Police Chief Powell stated his findings after rev wing the `bids for the sge:ad car.
Motion was made by Williams to award the bid for the squad,car to the low bidder,.
Southside Dodge at the amount of $4,300.00, seconded by Busse and upon a vote taken
it was duly passed.
Mayor Stock directed the Administrator to return the bid bond to the other bidder and
'to contact Southside Dodge•of the award'.
Engineer Anderson presented the Construction Report dated May 12, 1975. < Ma

Stock approved the Construction Reported dated. Mai 12, 1975.

Engineer Anderson presented;a memo regarding the proposed, location for two culverts
a ' 4 in North Shore Oaks.` This - matter was tabled for more information from Engineer
Anderson at the next Council meeting.
Engineer Anderson presented a memo regarding *rFietition for. street lights on Brooks
Lane. Motion was made by Williams to approve of five street Eights to be located at
Brooks Lane and 11 th, Brooks. Lane and 10th, Summer and Loth, ; Summer anii 'L i th, and
the Pump House, seconded by Busse and upon a mote taken it was duly passed.
• Engineer Israelson reported on :the`I'ift pump at Lakeside Manor.
Engineer Israelson presented information on, the City installing improvements, bonds,
etc -for review by the Council. �4
Mayor Stock stated Engineer Anderson and Engineer Is nelson have been contacted by
the people living in of Joe Whitney, requesting.that •the Council review the
cul -den -sac in front of Lot 8 and part of Lot 7, 6y that it vma ld better serve the
l area if it would be'moved back•to.about Lots 4 and-,5 because that is`.an access. to the
back lots of t�keQiio�l, and Beach area; they were also concerned about storm sewers in
the area,' they did not want them, - and the present plan does not showstorm ,sewers for
• ' w the area; and requested that the road be a 24 foot surface with no parking.
Engineer Israelson presented plans of the Joe Whitney area.

Mayor Stock stated -that in' Boudins Manor, Second. Addition the paving should be
. changed to a 24 ii, bt' width from Boudins Drive south.
Motion was made,by Busse. -that the area shown on the plans to the.cul- de-sac be a:24
foot paved surface, seconded by Williams and upon a vote token ittiwas duly pond.

Councilman Williams stated,' in'regard to the Eastwood' Access, that the Park Board did
not want this property as park
Mr. Wesley Green was pro stating his views:om thisrmatter, 'requesting the
vacation of the itroper his proposal for the. use of the ;property.
Mrs. Mortenson, a property owner, stated' that Mr. Greens proposal was not
acceptable to' her and',she felt that this property - should ;be a .community off6k
including all the residents E1.

After much.discussion a motion was made, by Oakes to va4ation'of the Eastwood
Acosta, seconded by, Williams and upon a: vote taken i

Motion was made by Oakes that upon the receipt of an agreement that has 100% of
the current owners of each Y
parcel of RLS 1 by the City Administratow`, the Administrator

would take the steps in the following motion that the City having no further use for the
pbblic roadway in RLS 1 1, that it revert in accordance with the L seconded by
Watkins and upon a vote taken it *as duly passed.
Mayor Stock directed Engineer Anderson to barricade the road and to post no swimming
signs.
