' I was OPEN MEETING LAM Attorney Sullivan stated in regard to the open meeting law that the Supreme Court has decided that the Council has the right to.discuss litigation in private with their attorney; POLICE. REPORT Motion was made by Busse to approve the Police Report for August 1976, seconded by Watkins and upon a.vote taken it was duly, passed'. FIRE 4 RESCUE Motion was made by Watkins to approve the Fire and Rescue Report for August 1976, seconded by Busse and upon a. vote taken it was duly passed. ' v„ POST OFFICE ACQUIRING LAN City Manager McGuire stated that the Postal Department has expressed, some interest in acquiring the land behind City Hall.and BEHIND CITY HALL asked if the Council has any desire to sell the "'land. After discussion on this matter the Council decided not to sell the property and the City Manager was directed meet with the Downtown Commission and Postal Department to consider some alternatives. GLEN JONES OWNERS DUPLI- City Manager McGuire stated in 1974 during a`'sewer and water project Glen Jones who lige's in LATE TO ISRAE SON s ASSOC. Inguadona Beach gave his owners duplicate to Isrielson and Assoc., Inc, and he claims it was never returned and Greg Gentz claims it was returned to him. City Manager McGuire stated he received a notice of Public Hearing on October 7, 1976 at 7c30 P.M. for a rezoning from rural to general" commerce from the City of Savage, the property is P P Y approximately seven acres and is directly east across Highway 13 from DuBar Marine and. wanted r o know if the Council wished to respond. Motion was made by Bissonett to send a letter "to the City of Savage relating to the rezoning and a copy of the letter should be sent to the Planning Commission and the City Council as a reminder of the fact that the City of Prior Lake has a proposal submitted to them and of previous meetings with the City Council of the City of Savage on the issue of joint effort on zoning of the entire area along Highway 13 and that this should be resolved before any further ° rezoning of the area and a copy of this letter to be sent to the Council, seconded; by Watkins and vote taken it was duly passed. upon a BROOKSVILLE HILLS OUTLOT B City Manager McGuire stated that two weeks ago he was authorized to negotiate the "foot CITY PURCHASE purchase of a 90 strip of land in.Brooksville Hills known as Outlot B the lot has been 90,' LAND sold, to a builder and the City could possibly- buy it for $8,500.00 and wanted to know if the.Council " wished to pursue the matter.
