CIP The CIP priorities were discussed. Mayor Stock stated that preliminary m; action should be taken on the extension of sewer and water on the north side of Prior Lake, Shady Beach Trail and, Manitou Road. MATER LEVEL Mayor Stock - Everyone here this even hq is concerned with the water that we have on Prior Lake at this conditions Particular time, Last Tuesday evening the Prior Lake/Spring Lake Watershed District met and discussed the matter of high water and on Friday night the Prior Lake =Association had a meeting and they k also, discussed the high water condition, The Watershed Engineer. Bruce Patterson, has informed the City of the as roblem and predictions of the high water, Based on his y P m4 it Staff h_reviewed some of the implications. The City is also concerned with the. lake level because of the sanitary sewer lines and water main. The City Staff, The Civi! If your home is in the designated flood plain, at 910 or ,below, you are eligible.for national floo` insurance.' You can apply for this insurance from the c ompany that handles d your home owners insurance. The flood plain designated for Prior lake is Zone A7. You should send your insurance application and your check to`your insurance company. The insurance company will then send It to Washington where it is processed. Once it gets processed in Washington, then your flood' insurance is in effect. Mr. Huewoeiler reported on what action the Watershed District has taken to help the City incase of flooding, The Watershed District has con acted as many governmental agencies as they could for assistance in emergency funds- for the City. Tom Rees and Tom Hagedorn have been contacted and asked what the City can do in the case of flooding: in the case where - nearby ponds will be used to hold excess water from Prior lake, the Watershed District has requested that a blanket waiver be granted., This has been checked out with the DNR. The Army Corps and the Minn. Dept. of Emergency Services have been checked iwlth. The Scott County Asst. Administrator. JIm Sulerud, will be meeting with the Scott County Commissioners -and filling them in on the situation in Prior lake. ;. The investigations that they have done are to determine if an emergency exists and what the City has to do Tim O'Laughlin, Scott County CiTtl Defense. Mr. O'Laughlin stated that wany of the agencies like the DNR, , will help as soon as they can legally. They have certain criteria they must, fulfill before they can step In. The DNR has to see some change take place quickly and the need. The Corp of Engineers will help, however, public property must be involved, This is the City sewer system, streets, roads, etc. in order to receive presiders- ti tial declaration, the communit has to y must have a $2 million loss... The City n show that al'l the resources that were available to the community were used, and the City can no longer withstand the pressure that is being applied financially. ;.
