Y met.i'n regular session on Monday,
February 21, 1984�at 7:30 ,PH in the,City Council Chambers. Mayor
Johnson called
the Meeting to order. Present were Mayor Johnson, Councilmembers Busse, Schweich,
Scott, Thorkelson, City Manager McGuire, City Planner Craser, Parks a Recreation
Director Mangan, Finance Director Teschner, City Attorney Kessel, Sergeant Schmidt,
Fire Chief Hertens and Assistant Chief Anderson.
Mayor Johnson asked everyone to please rise for the 1 e /
p edge ofY allegiance.
The minutes of the February 13 1984 meeting were then reviewed.
; Mayor Johnson asked that "Community Room be added after Llbrary Vemodeling "'on

approve the Invoices scheduled for payment on wedneaday,'February, 22, 1984 inserting
"Community Room" after Library Remodeling, seconded by Scott` upon a vote taken

The next item on the agenda was Nick Modders requesting a discussion on a,pager
system'tor the Fire Department.

Hr. Modders was present and referred back to the letter that he had sent to the
Council regarding an I ncident where not enough firemen responded
to a call.
Fire Chief Mertens referred to the year -end Fire and Rescue Report.' stated
for that out_ot all the calls for fire and rescue for the this the

year was,Oybe only
one they ran into this kind of problem.

not that a paging system was necessary
t at this time, maybe In 3 -4 years but not now.
Mayor Johnson thanked Mr'r Modders and Fire Chle:- Mertens for taking the time to
' come, in tonight.
The next item on the agenda was to review the quotes for the new dear.

Sergeant Schmidt commented on this. He reviewed the specs for the and stated

that two quotes were received, Malkerson for 510,653.00 and Mahowalds for $10,649.00.
F It would be the recommendation from Staff that the squad would be purchased from the

low bid, Mahowalds for $10,649.00,

There was a general discussion by Council and Staff. w
New Squad Motion by Thorkelson to accept the quote from Mahowalds at the amount of $10 649.00
(fir seconded by Busse and upon a vote taken it was duly passed. '
There was further discussion concerning what would happen to one of the o4d squads.
Sergeant Schmidt that he would receive one of the old squads and As squad
which has over 100,000 wiles on it would be advertised for bidsand sold to the
highest bidder. n
The next item on the agenda was to consider the Brooksville Hills Seventh Addition
rdshell, City Planner Craser reviewed this for the Council. He stated that this
Is a townhouse development that ' beinV proposed. He further stated that prelim-
inary plat approval was given on 2/7/83. Shortly thereafter, staff issued one build -,
ing permit and two foundation permits. The corners could then be surveyed and
-
accurately have the lot recorded. Staff has examined "the hardshell and has found It
to be in compliance with the preliminary plat. would recommend approval at
this
this time.
There was concern over the driveways and other covenants.

There was further discussion by Council and Staff.

The next item was to schedule a public hearing for a road vacation. City Planner
Craser this.
