HomeMy WebLinkAbout04 22 1985MINUTES OF THE CITY COUNCIL April 22, 1985 The Common Council of the City of Prior Lake met in, regular session on Monday, April 22, 1015 at 7.30 PM in the City Council Chambers. Mayor Johnson called _ the meeting tcl order. Present were Mayor Johnson, Councilmembers Busse, { Schweich, Scott, Thorkelson, City Manager McGuire, Finance Director Teschner and City Attorney ?vessel, t , „ Mayor Johnson asked everyone to rise for the pledge of allegiance, The first item on the agenda was to consider :.a Market Consultant for the s Downtown Study Area, Mr, Dan Wilson and Mr, Jim Christensen from Wilson '. Management Services were present to comment.. Mr. Nilson commented on the company's background and the other communities that that they have worked with, Mr. Christensen reviewed the Market Study °for the Prior. Lake Downtown Business District; G, There was a general discussion 'by members of the Council, Staff and 'various , members. from the Economic. Mayor Johnson then called a recess. The meeting was called, back to order at 8.30 PM, The next item on the agenda was to review the plans.,for the addition to City Hall. City Manager McGuire commented on this. Cit Manager McGuire reviewed the site plan and 'the building design plans, A round table discussion took place throughout the review of the plans , City Manager McGuire reviewed the various architectural11,rosts with the Council. After the discussion, motion by Thorkelson to authorise Close" t �Asiociates to P prepare the final plans and cost estimates for the addition to City Hall, Additim seconded by Busse and upon a vote taken it was duly passed. f The next item on the agenda was to consider the request from St, Michaels for a ( d temporary 3.2 beer permit for Aprilfest. _City Manager 1tcGuire stated that the fee has been received and would ; recommend approval. I Mayor Johnson directed City Manager McGuire to investigate it and report back to i the Council, at a later meeting, Cauncilmember Busse commented on the rebuilding of County Road 4E east` of Highway 13, There was a general discussion by Council anUStaff. City Manager McGuire commented on a newsclipping that was in the ,April 18, 1985 Minneapolis Star and Tribune. .
