Tt:e Caeaon Council of the City of Prior Lake met in regular session on Monday,
July It 1985 at 7:30 PM in the City Council Chambers.
Mayor Johnson called the
meeting to order. Present >were Mayor Johnson, Councilm&Thers Busse, Schweich,
Scott, 7horkelson, City Manager McGuire, 'City
and Attorney Kessel.
Mayor Johnson asked everyone to rise for the Pledge of allegiance.
The minutes of June 24, 1985 and the invoices scheduled for payment on ZUesday
July .2, 1985 were reviewed by Council.

There was a general discussion by Council-and Staff regarding the length of the
Mayor's tem. After this discussion, it was th consensus of the Council that
the term should be increased to a 4 year tem. Mayor Johnson directed Cit *
Attorney Kessel to draft an ordinance changing the Mayor's tem of service to a InjW
four year term and that this,,would be effective for the next local e and

r City Manager McGuire was asked to report back to the Council on the State
{ reimbursing the City for the upkeep of that particular area (parking area).

City Manager McGuire reported on the letter of credit that Fred Schweich was to
submit for the inprover,�ents to "Freddies on the Lake ". He stated that he
received a letter from Mr , :�zhweich's bonding company stating that there would
be no way that they could produce a letter of credit in that amount of money
with such short notice. He stated that they were requesting a 2 week
extension.
There was a general discussion by Council and Staff. Council felt that Mr.
Schweich was trying to complete the obligations set be the Council at the last
meeting and agreed to grant an extension for two weeks and that Mr. schreich
would have tosubmit the bond at the same time that the preliminary plans would
,$ be submitted (July 15, 1985) and that there would be no ompletion date
extension.
City Manager McGuire then commented on a meeting that the Scott County HIM would
be hold on ftdnesdoy, July 10, 1985. He took a poll as to which councilnseebers
would be attending.
City' Manager McGuire then commented on a letter that he received from Na
Traxler's office regarding the Dunn driveway situation. He stated that City
Dgineer Anderson and Councilmamber Scott went out and viewed the site and it
'.' seras that Mr. Dunn has complied with the City's request of taking out the
blacktop.
. There was a general discussion regarding what the City had to do with this
e situation besides being the middleman.

Mr. Jeff Heaufoy commented to the Council about signs for children at play or

City Manager McGuire stated that he would check with City Engineer Anderson as '
