NUM TO FIIE`.
Upon a site inspection of the Dwight & Susan Borland residence,
14622 Bridle Ridge:'h•ail N.E., prior lake, MN I: did :observe the
followingz.
The beginning ofan_ apparent structural failure of the
West exterior . load bearing: wall. The failure is most
obvious in the area of the lowest, level walkout sliding glass door. Visually on the interior I could :see a
deflection of door framework and the possible lack of a
sufficient doorway header to transfer the above acting
bearing: wall loads. The :sliding glass door is all but .-
in- operable due to the stresses acting . on it.:
Upon observation of the exterior of the West wall I '
noted visual . deflection of the top doorframe, the North.
side door trim has -been stressed to the point that it a
has pulled all of the attaching nails .& screws out of r;
:the :framework & the trim is sticking out. The North - -.
corner of the door threshold visually appears to have
settled,: which . suggests the possibility of a' failure
of the building .;foundation . &.- footing system.
On observation of the interior upper level West load
bearing wall, - I noticed excessive gaps in the doorway -
frame that is above the lower level. sliding door which
:could: suggest wall movement. -
Based on the above referenced site observations, I would recommend
an imred ate inspection of the entire home by a licensed building "
inspector to outline remedial action to prevent a catastrophic
structural failure & to correct the problem.
