Total calls for serve and reported crime are down. I think the unusually cold (at least compared to what we have experienced in the past few years) weather is keeping people inside — thus, more domestic complaints. Detective Chris Olson has submitted his resignation from the Department. He will be starting a new career as a homicide investigator with the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. Chris has been with the Prior Lake Police Department for 27 years. Officer Mark Tabone has informed us of his plans to retire as of March 31, 2014. He has been with the Department for 20 years. He is currently assigned as the Liaison officer to the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community.
