History One of the few sources of objective data to measure the quality of the City services we deliver is the Community Survey. In 2011, a very similar survey was administered to 400 households selected using random sampling techniques to increase the predictability that the survey results can accurately be projected to represent all 24,000 people in Prior Lake. At the April 22, 2014 visioning session, Dr. Morris presented the survey results concentrating on general themes. A copy of the survey and penciled-in results together with a transcription of Dr. Morris' comments are attached for Council information. Current Circumstances The community survey results were made available to the 120 shareholders that attended the visioning session to help facilitate that effort. We have asked Dr. Morris to give the complete presentation rather than a summary at the May 27, 2014 Council meeting. Therefore, some of the information the City Council will receive is duplicative, but for most residents the information will be completely new, as none of the media have given it coverage to date. We have also asked Dr. Morris to focus on some specific points. HE indicated that in certain areas, Prior Lake continues to improve relative to other communities. Without naming names, Dr. Morris has been asked to be more specific about the criteria that is used in each case to determine if a city is in the best ranking for various services. We asked Dr. Morris to point out those areas in the results that suggest that we need to give greater attention to a service we provide. Phone 952.447.9800 / Fax 952.447.4245/www.eityofpriorlake.com Conclusion In addition to providing citizens with a more complete review of the survey results, this presentation is intended to offer councilors another opportunity to ask questions they may have. ISSUES: FINANCIAL IMPACT: ALTERNATIVES: No Council action is required unless additional information is requested from Morris and Leatherman.
