The exit devices are going to be 8"higher than the bottom of the light so will show through the glass. Verify if that's OK or if you want to shorten the lights to above the devices. (C,V)B102/B102A we believe 102A should be the 20 minute door. We scheduled that way. Please verify. (V) Frames in masonry walls. Canital City Glass - Alex Feinstein 763-231-0339 (V)A730A-Wouldn't a paintable HM door be better for this opening that a prefinished wood door? (V)A740B-Which side of this door locks? (classroom or art studio?) (V)A741 -We scheduled the opening with magnetic wall holders (by others)per the specification. Why are magnetic holders used on a non-rated pair with doggable panic devices? Wouldn't automatic type mechaical wall holders be better and a lot cheaper? (V)A741A-We scheduled the specified wall mounted automatic holder. Verify that this door will be able to swing 180 degrees to allow it to work. by McFarland (V)A750-Which side of this door locks?(Kitchen or receiving side?) This door would also seem to be a candidate for a heavy duty HM door. (V)A760 -Please verify all information about this door...it just seems like an unusal place for the door as scheduled. (V)B192A-Swings IN to the media center. We believe that the specified hardware group 23(exit device)is incorrect. We scheduled group 06 hardware same as B192B. (V)B193A/B&B194A&B-These pairs of doors go from different sides of the media area into common rooms. All four door have classroom locks. Once inside these rooms people can just walk through the opposite door into the othe portion of the media center. Please verify handing of doors for locking purposes. (C)B199B-There are two of these on the plans. One a single door, one a pair. We numbered the single door B199BS and the pair B199BP. We believe their hardware groups are mixed up. The pair is spec'd group 17 which is for a single door. The single door is spec'd 14 which is fora pair. We switched them around. (V)B100BP-Group 14 calls for a classroom lock. (V)B736A&B I appeared to me that the locking side of these doors would be on the work room side so that the people with keys to offices 735&736 would have access to the work room without having access to each others offices. However that would make it very easy to get locked in the work room. Verify that B736A&B shouldn't have passage sets.(or is the work room the secure room so that a key is necessary to enter it from either office but allow free passage to the other office) (C,V)B737-Doesn't appear to require the specified 20 minute rating nor does the hardware specified work for a 20 minute door. We scheduled it as non-rated. Please verify (V)C296D &E-Verify the hand of thes doors for locking puposes.(key on circ room side...correct?) (V)E101 &E101A-Door E101 is called out as flush and E101A(to storage closet)is called out as FG2. We believe this is a mistake. We scheduled E101 as the FG2 door. Please verify. Some of the mechanical permits have been already paid for.McDowall Company has paid for the installation of the HVAC equipment, Summit Mechanical has paid for the piping permit. The plumbing portion that Summit Mechanical is installing will most likely be permitted by the State of MN Department of Labor and Industry. I have a phone call into them for conformation that they are responsible for permitting and inspecting of the plumbing. Two items which have yet to be submitted is a building permit for the HVAC equipment which ISD 719 has purchased. Please have them submit a HVAC permit application for the equipment. See 1 attached form. Also you had stated that Summit will no longer be responsible for the fire suppression portion of the project. The new contractor will be required to obtain permits for their work. The city doesn't have a separate line item for the plan review for the mechanical permits. In the city fee schedule,we collect 1%of the project cost which covers the total fee. I hope this helps for the different parties responsible for the fees.Thank you 4,4 11,244 P Robert D.Hutchins Building Official City of Prior Lake 4646 Dakota Street SE Prior Lake,MN 55372 952.447.9851 Fax 952.440.4263 City Email Updates. The review is based upon the supposition that the data on which the design is based are correct, and that necessary legal authority has been obtained to construct the project. The responsibility for the design of structural features and the efficiency of equipment must be taken by the project designer. Approval is contingent upon satisfactory disposition of any requirements included in this report. Special care should be taken to insure that the material and installation of the plumbing system are in accordance with the provisions of the Minnesota Plumbing Code. A copy of the approved plans, specifications, and this Report on Plans must be retained at the project location for future reference. INSPECTIONS: All plumbing installations must be tested and inspected in accordance with the requirements of the Minnesota Plumbing Code. As specified in Minnesota Rules, part 4715.2830,no plumbing work may be covered prior to completing the required tests and inspections. Provisions must be made for applying an air test at the time of the roughing-in inspection as outlined in Minnesota Rules, part 4715.2820, subpart 2, of the code. A manometer test, as specified in Minnesota Rules, part 4715.2820, subpart 3, is required at the time of the finished plumbing inspection. It is the responsibility of the contractor/installer to notify the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry when an installation for a state contract job,Minnesota Department of Health licensed healthcare facility, or project in an area where there is no local administrative authority is ready for an inspection and test. To schedule inspections, contact the state plumbing standards representative for your region. For your regional inspector's contact information, visit our website at http://www.dli.mn.gov/CCLD/CCLDContactus.asp REQUIREMENT(S): 1. The double-wall heat exchanger design must permit any single wall failure to discharge the contents of the wall to the atmosphere. The discharge location must create no hazard and be visible to the operator or owner(see Minnesota Rules, part 4715.1941, subpart 2). 2. The water softener and the related water distribution piping must be properly sized to accommodate the peak demand of the plumbing fixtures. The plan appears to indicate a 1-inch distribution branch to a water softener that serves a water heater and a 1''A-inch hot water distribution main. Unless documentation is provided to this office showing that the existing softener and related piping are properly sized, the pipe sizes may not be less than 1'/z inches and the water softener must be upgraded to accommodate the peak demand of the plumbing fixtures(see Minnesota Rules, part 4715.3700). An Equal Opportunity Employer Five Hawks Elementary 2013 Building Improvements Phase 1 Plumbing Plan No. PLB 1303-00163 Page 2 April 5, 2013 3. Where new waste and vent piping connects with existing, a cleanout should be provided for testing. 4. PVC solvent weld joints must include a primer of contrasting color to the pipe and cement (see Minnesota Rules, part 4715.0810, subpart 2). 5. The plumbing system shall be tested in accordance with Minnesota Rules, part 4715.2820. Only thermoplastic pipe may be tested hydrostatically(see Minnesota Rules, part 4715.2820, subpart 2). 6. The Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry(DLI)will be conducting the plumbing inspections for this project. Prior to scheduling an inspection, the installer must verify that the required inspection fee has been submitted. Please contact Mr. Charles Olson at 651/284-5888 for all plumbing inspections. For more information, please visit our website at: http://www.dli.mn.gov/CCLD/Plumbinglnspect.asp NOTE(S): 1. The scope of this project consists of the remodelling of an existing building. The plumbing installation includes a double-wall domestic hot water heat exchanger, a water heater, a floor drain, and relocating existing water and vent piping. 2. This facility will be served by existing municipal water and sewer services. Authorization for construction in accordance with the approved plans may be withdrawn if construction is not undertaken within a period of two years. The fact that the plans have been approved does not necessarily mean that recommendations or requirements for change will not be made at some later time when changed conditions, additional information, or advanced knowledge make improvements necessary. I've used the information you added to the template to produce a final version that is now suitable for signature/notary. Sorry for any confusion, it appears that you already had the owner sign/notarize the template, but now that we have a final version, please use the attached form. Please note that you should also attach the monitoring/maintenance plan for the site at the end (Exhibit C). We'll fill in the agreement date at the top and get this finalized after we receive it back from you. Back in December(see attached memo)we noted that the site will need coverage under a monitoring and maintenance agreement. I've attached a blank template—please review and let me know if you have any questions. Please also send the owner's information that should be entered on the agreement so that I can draft a final version for signatures. Thanks and have a nice weekend.
