ISSUES Primary elections are conducted for school district and state offices where
necessary. The City does not have a primary election.
Elections are a cooperative effort between the city, county and state.
Each year, in accordance with the law, we make an effort to provide for a
balance between the various political parties in our election judge
appointments. This can be complicated both by the political composition of
the community as well as the political bent of the persons volunteering to
judge.
The resolution does not designate the precinct for any judge so that in the
event of election judge cancellations, the City may reassign judges to a
different precinct in order to maintain party representation to the extent
possible.
FINANCIAL Judges are paid $10.00 per hour as approved within this year's operating
IMPACT: budget. Judges work approximately 16 hours each on each election day.
