SUMMARY OF ORDINANCE NO. 112-06
The following is only a summary of Ordinance No. 112-06. A complete text of the newly
adopted zoning ordinance can be found at City Hall or in the Document Center on the
City of Prior Lake Website after December 19, 2012.
Amendments to Sections 1101 (General Provisions), 1102 (Use District Regulations)
and 1107 (General Performance Standards) of the Zoning Ordinance have been
approved by the City Council to assist in the creation of economic development
activities through relaxed development requirements, allowing for a greater variety of
approved building materials, providing more flexible development options, simplifying
the development and approval process and more closely aligning Prior Lake's Zoning
Ordinance to those of surrounding communities while protecting adjacent residential
areas. The following is a summary of each amended Section of the Ordinance:
SECTION 1101: GENERAL PROVISIONS
Subsection 1101.1000: Land use descriptions were amended or clarified and new land
use descriptions were added.
SECTION 1102: USE DISTRICT REGULATIONS
Subsections 1102.1401: Permitted uses were added to the General Industrial Use
District I-1.
Subsections 1102.1402: Uses Permitted with Conditions were added and conditions
were modified in the General Industrial Use District I-1.
Subsections 1102.1403: Uses Permitted with Conditional Use Permit were added and
conditions were modified in the General Industrial Use District I-1.
Subsections 1102.1404: Accessory uses were removed, added, and conditions were
modified in the General Industrial Use District I-1.
Subsections 1102.1405: Dimensional standards were modified in the General Industrial
Use District I-1.
Subsection 1102.1500: Industrial performance standards were modified.
SECTION 1107: GENERAL PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Subsection 1107.2202: Classes of materials were added and removed.
The Summary of the Changes to the Zoning Ordinance is approved as a true and
accurate representation of the amendments to Sections 1101, 1102 and 1107 of the
Prior Lake Zoning Ordinance and Summary Publication is authorized.
