MINUTES OF THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY
October 21, 1991
The Economic Development Authority meeting of October 21, 1991
was called to order at 6:30 p.m. by Chairperson Gene White.
Members present were: Lee Andren, Bob Barsness, Doug Larson,
John Fitzgerald and Gene White. Members absent were: Chuck
Arnold and Carol Scott.
Chairperson White explained that the purpose of this meeting was
to consider a letter from Enivid Corporation's representative,
Kathleen Nye-Reiling, requesting an extension of the Development
Agreement between Enivid and the Authority.
City Manager Unmacht (Secretary of the EDA) briefly discussed
housekeeping items for the EDA relating to the election of
officers. EDA members concurred that elections of officers will
take place in January, 1992.
Assistant City Manager Kay Schmudlach briefly summarized the
purpose for the meeting which was to consider action on Kathleen
Nye-Reiling's request for an extension of Enivid's Development
Agreement on the development of the property adjacent to
Priordale Mall.
Kathleen Nye-Reiling expanded on Enivid's request for an
extension of the Development Agreement. Discussion occurred on
the pros and cons of extending, suspending or terminating the
Agreement.
MOTION MADE BY FITZGERALD, SECONDED BY ANDREN, TO DIRECT THE CITY
ATTORNEY AND STAFF TO ENTER INTO NEGOTIATIONS TO AMEND THE
DEVELOPMENT AGREEMENT WITH ENIVID CORPORATION FOR A PERIOD OF
ONE YEAR.
EDA members concurred that the amended Development Agreement
shall be brought to the EDA and the Council for ratification.
Upon a vote taken, ayes by Andren, Barsness, Fitzgerald, Larson,
and White, the motion passed unanimously.
Chair White announced that the EDA would be meeting in January
and officers would be elected at that time.
