Prior Lake, MN 55372-1714 November 1, 2004 ~ ~ BC 0(~ Frank Boyles, City Manage('- PRESENTATION BY THE CITY COUNCIL TO JEANETTE WHITE DEDICATING AN OVERLOOK IN LAKEFRONT PARK IN MEMORY OF GENE WHITE. Gene White was a supporter of the Prior Lake Community both in work and deed. He served as a member of the Prior Lake City Council from January 1986 through December 31,1993. He also served as a member of the Scott County Housing and Redevelopment Authority. During his tenure as a publiC official Gene became active in the Association of Metropolitan Municipalities. He promoted this organization and the City of Prior Lake while a member. Gene loved to be where people gathered. He especially liked being at the center of Prior Lake activities as documented by his civic services. But as much as Gene loved the community of Prior Lake he also loved being on the lake. If he could not be on the lake then he would spend his time gazing at it. The members of the City Council want to recognize Gene White's many contributions to our community. The Council has therefore determined that it would dedicate an overlook in memory of Gene. The overlook is located on the north side of the 12 acre pond just east of the walking bridge. It is elevated about 20 feet above the pond and contains a blue hanging love seat. The love seat will receive a brass plaque confirming dedication of the overlook to Gene White. Tonight the City Council will award a plaque to Jeanette White, Gene's wife, confirming this dedication. www.cityofpriorlake.com N:\8C.DOC Phone 952.447.4230 / Fax 952.447.4245
