MAYOR HAUGEN & COUNCILMEMBERS
May 12th Work Session
As you know, at 5pm on May 12th, the City Council will conduct a special meeting in the City Council
chambers to award bid for the operation of the dance program. At the conclusion of that meeting, a light
meal will be available and we will adjourn to another room in the Fire Station. The Council will conduct
the following business at this work session:
lSD #719 Long-Range Planning Focus Group
School Superintendent Tom Westerhaus and Communications Coordinator Barb Brown will be present.
They have hosted numerous focus groups throughout the community to collect data for the district's
long-range (strategic) planning project. As part ofthe focus group, the Council will be asked to respond
to a series of questions. The focus group will take about one hour.
2004-2008 Capital Improvement Program
As the Council is aware, the Capital Improvement program is a five-year financial planning tool which is
updated yearly. As part of this work session, we would like to review the following with the Council: · Impact of the proposed capital improvement program on financial resources.
· Council preferences on 2004 projects as well as projects identified for 2005 through
2008.
· 2004 capital improvement project impacts upon staff work load.
· Council support for updating development fees.
· Next step in adoption of CIP.
Adoption of the ClP is one of the most important City Council functions both from a fiscal perspective
and to support the implementation of the 2020 Vision and Strategic Plan.
