CONSIDER APPROVAL OF A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE
PURCHASE OF LIFT STATION EQUIPMENT FOR SPRING LAKE CIRCLE
AND RAYMOND AVENUE LIFTSTATIONS IN SPRING LAKE TOWNSmp.
Historv
The Council may recall that as part of the Spring Lake Township Annexation
Agreement, utilities were to be extended in the "Vergus Area" to address environmental
issues created by failing septic systems. The Township bid the project including
streets, sewer and water. The City was to provide the lift station equipment to serve
this area.
The township is to reimburse the City for City provided items including pumps,
controllers, and SCADA equipment necessary so the lift stations meet the City's
"Standardized" equipment. The original estimate was $32,000.
The purpose of this agenda items is to approve the purchase of these items and then to
invoice Spring Lake Township for the purchase.

The City of Prior Lake is to supply four lift station pumps and two telemetry units to
monitor and call-out maintenance personnel in case of emergencies.

The agreement was for the City of Prior Lake to purchase the aforementioned
equipment at an estimated cost of $32,000 and be reimbursed by the Township. Since
the actual cost is only $24,794.50, this is the amount we will invoice the Township.
Installation is included in the above quotes.
The alternatives are as follows:
1. Approve the resolution authorizing the purchase of lift station equipment for Spring
Lake Circle and Raymond Avenue lift stations in Spring Lake Township.
2. Table this agenda item for a specific reason.
3. Deny this agenda item for a specific reason and provide staff with direction.

A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE PURCHASE OF PUMPS, TELEMETRY AND
APPURTENANT EQUIPMENT NOT TO EXCEED $24,794.50 FROM ELECTRIC PUMP OF
BLOOMINGTON, MINNESOTA

WHEREAS,
The City of Prior Lake and Spring Lake Township have entered into an agreement for
construction and maintenance of sanitary sewer and water service in the "Vergas
Area" of Spring Lake Township; and
WHEREAS,
Spring Lake Township has agreed to reimburse the City of Prior Lake for the
purchase of lift station pumps, telemetry, and appurtenant equipment at a cost of
$24,794.50.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PRIOR LAKE,
MINNESOTA, that:
1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein.
2. The City Council authorizes the expenditures for lift station pumps, telemetry, and appurtenant
equipment in a total amount not to exceed $24,794.50 and to invoice Spring Lake Township for
that amount.
