COUNCIL PHOTOGRAPHS B. C-3 ZONING AMENDMENTS C. SMSC AGREEMENT DISCUSSION: Introduction The January 12, 2015 work session contemplates three topics as follows: PHOTOGRAPHS Individual and groupphotographs are taken of city councilors. The group pho- tograph is framed and hung next to the city council chambers entrance door. Individual photographs are included in the city’s website. C-3 ZONING DISTRICT Please refer to the staff report information provided to you in your Council meeting agenda packet for New Business, Item 10.B. Casey McCabe and I will be at the Work Session to briefly review the proposed amendments, and to answer your questions. In December of 2012, the City Council approved similar types of amendments to the General Industrial (I-1) zoning district as the start of a “business friend- ly” review of the City’s commercial and industrial use districts. Involvement has included the EDAC and EDA, both providing recommended changes to the zoning ordinances. The newly adopted 2040 Vision & Strategic Plan also states a Management goal under Effective City Resources as follows: “Review Zoning Ordinance and revise to facilitate development-friendly quality development”. SMSC AGREEMENT Please refer to agenda item 10A for support materials which include a staff report and the most recent copy of the SMAC Agreement. City attorney Ric Rosow will be present as will Tribal Administrator Bill Rudnicki and SMSC Land Agent Stan Ellison. Attorney Rosow has had the opportunity to discuss the agreement and the current status of various aspects of the law with indi- vidual councilors. This background information was intended to assist counci- lors in the formulation of questions and discussion on this topic. While the item is on the city council agenda for action, the city council should determine whether they are comfortable moving ahead or direct staff as it believes is most appropriate.
