RESOLUTION 05-46
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE CITY'S
STANDARD CONTRACT FOR ANIMAL CONTROL SERVICES.

WHEREAS, Bob McCallister has served as the City's Animal Control Officer for over a decade; and
WHEREAS,
Bob McCallister has submitted a letter indicating,that his services will not be available
after March 31, 2005; and
WHEREAS,
A letter of request for quotes was prepared on March 1, 2005, and distributed to three
vendors: Burnsville Animal Control; Paws, Claws and Hooves Pet Boarding; and 4
PAWS Animal Control Services; and
WHEREAS,
Burnsville Animal Control and 4 PAWS Animal Control submitted proposals and
participated in interviews; and
WHEREAS,
The quotation of 4 PAWS is deemed to be the most responsive to the City's needs
because it is:
· The least expensive. .
· Provides the services the City desires.
· Is the most specific regarding services to be provided, costs of each'and
identification of who pays which cost.
· Indicates it will move its services into Scott County.
· Has a positive record providing such services to the City of Savage.
NOW THEREFORE, BE'IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PRIOR LAKE,
MINNESOTA as follows:
1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein.
2. 4 PAWS Animal Control Services is designated as the City's Animal Control Officer in accordance
with their proposal dated March 4, 2005.
3. The, Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized to enter into the City's standardized contract
with 4 PAWS Animal Control Services for a flat fee in the amount of $14,480 for the period April 1,
2005, to March 31, 2006; and $18,100 for the period April 1, 2006, TO March 31, 2007.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 21st DAY OF MARCH, 2005.
