Most categories continued an upward trend for this month, and for the year, reflective of the overall increase in population in the city. Robberies is the biggest statistical increase, and while significant, the details of the cases are more reflective of thefts from a person known to the reporter, than what is traditionally thought of as a robbery. In August the police department completed active shooter training for all officers. This was done through our partnership with the Prior Lake Savage school district at a district school. In October Officers will be working extra grant funded shifts with other Scott county law enforcement officers on the statewide Towards Zero Death (TZD) campaign targeting seatbelt enforcement. Officers will work on six separate days targeting seatbelt violations. Officers will also work one night targeting DWI enforcement.
