The only noncomplying State of Minnesota Plumbing Code item installed was the SDR 26 sewer pipe. Code states Schedule 40 should be used. We will accept the SDR 26 installed pipe. City staff will work with the homeowner to ensure that the septic tank is pumped and crushed, water meter installed,well-sealed or separated from the city water supply. If you are not the intended recipient of this e-mail, please delete it from your 1 NWA had Jason's Pipe crew on site today to perform the extra work at 1900 Shoreline (Gary Dahlmans) which includes connecting the Sanitary sewer service to where the existing sewer comes out of the house, running a 1" copper water service up through the southeast corner of the basement floor, and run a 6" PVC Perforated drain tile line out of DS5 to the area of the sanitary sewer service connection. Jason had his crew of 5 men start by running a 6" PVC drain tile line out of DS5 to the north and then turn east along the north edge of the 8'trail. When they got to the Water Service curb stop they connected a 1"copper line and ran it along the drain tile line until they were straight out from the Southeast corner of the house. They decided to dig a trench to the corner of the house and install the water service under the footing and up through a hole in the floor that Gary had made.They backfilled the water service trench and then began digging to locate the septic tank and connection point for the sewer line. They found the septic tank and connection point and found that the connection could be made without removing the tank. Len w/Scott County said we would only remove the tank if needed to make the connection so the tank was left in place. They made the connection and then ran the sewer line and drain tile line to the south and made the connections. They backfilled the trench and graded the disturbed areas and restored driveway access. When finished, all the water and sewer issues appeared to be resolved. Jason's crew also added a new Drainage Structure to the north of DS3A in order to get a flatter slope from the back of the trail to the ditch bottom. They laid an 8" PVC pipe between the two structures and installed a solid cover casting on DS3A and installed the removed Beehive inlet grate on the new DS. They backfilled and graded the area. They also installed the area drain to the low area west of 1966 Shoreline's driveway that new road and trail was holding back water. They ran an 8" PVC pipe out of DS1 and ran it to the low area just inside the R/W and installed a 27" MH and Beehive grate. They backfilled and graded the area. A number of cleanup items will be completed in the upcoming months and the final layer of asphalt will be completed next summer. The utilities have all been tested and approved. You may now hook up your home to the new sewer and water service stubs. In order to make the connection from the utility stubs to the home, a building permit must be obtained from the Building Department. A "Master Plumber", licensed in the state of Minnesota must sign the plumbing permit. Also, a "Master Plumber" or a sewer and water contractor licensed in the State of Minnesota for pipe laying must sign the sewer and water permit. Building permit and connection fees of$5,786 are due at the time of the building permit issuance. Your existing well can be maintained for outside non-domestic use or can be abandoned and sealed. It should be noted that the sanitary sewer service is required to be located at least 20 feet away from any well or the well will need to be abandoned. The building permit will give further details regarding these items. Sections 704.300 and 705.400 of the Prior Lake City Code requires connection to City water and sewer within one year of availability. Section 4715.0310 of the State of Minnesota Plumbing Code also requires connection to municipal sewer and water systems once they are available. This letter serves as the beginning date for the one year time period. Attached for your convenience are copies of the building, plumbing, and sewer and water permits.
