Subject: Langer lake lot proposed fill
The three of us have met and reviewed the engineering plans for filling the Langer lot to a level consistent with future
development.
Although I struggle to understand the engineering as a lay person, I like you both and trust you enough so that if
anything goes wrong I know we could address the issues. ',
So, at this time I have no objections to the plan going forward.

I'm afraid I need something a bit more definitive to determine whether a permit is required or not.To '
be clear, I'm not asking about the water surface elevation, but the lowest land surface elevation where
fill will be placed.

It depends on the elevation of the lake as it sits today. When we did the survey the water surface
elevation was at the 904 elevation.

Are there areas below elevation 904? Or do you not have enough survey data to say?

Jennie,
The existing water elevation of the lake is approximately at 904, so the work will be at or above this
elevation.
Thanks, Grant

Thanks for sending this Ricl<. Definitely a permit will be needed since it appears that some of the work
will be below elevation 904 and will be greater than 200 linear feet.
It is hard to see the elevation contours along the shoreline, so perhaps Grant can confirm that work will '
be below 904.
Our permitting system is online. It should guide you through.

Finally, with the work on the side of the property, are there any potential impacts to the neighbor?
Thanks,

lennie,
Thanks for your help! Attached are the engineering documents approved by the City of Prior Lake and
Watershed District. As result of significant flooding in 2014 we are mitigating the problem by bringing in
fill. We currently have bolder rip rap retaining wall along the shoreline and intend to increase the height
of the existing rip rap retaining wall to the elevation of the cement patio on the lakeside of the home.
Please let us know if permit is required.
If you have technical questions I have copied our engineer Grant Jacobson and the City of Prior Lake
engineer Larry Poppler.
