CITY COUNCIL AGENDA REPORT
MEETING DATE: NOVEMBER 23, 2015
AGENDA #: 6A
PREPARED BY: FRANK BOYLES, CITY MANAGER
PRESENTED BY: FRANK BOYLES, CITY MANAGER
AGENDA ITEM: PRESENTATIONS TO RETIRING BOARD AND COMMISSION
MEMBERS
DISCUSSION: Introduction
The purpose of this agenda item is to recognize those board and
committee members who have donated their personal time on behalf of the
community.
History
The City of Prior Lake has relied heavily on the participation of citizens to
complete the ongoing work of municipal government. Advisory committees
have been formed to make recommendations to the City Council and the
Economic Authority in the following areas:
Planning
Parks
Lakes
Traffic Safety
Community Safety
Communications/Technology
Economic Development
Each committee is composed of five to seven members and sometimes
more. Most committees have a monthly meeting schedule. Committees
and their members perform in accordance with annually reviewed bylaws.
Members may serve up to nine years or three, three year terms.
Current Circumstances
Each year some committee members decide to retire, come to the end of a
term or reach their term limit. For those individuals we host an all
committee dinner as occurred earlier this evening. At tonight’s City Council
meeting we would like to recognize outgoing committee members by
conveying to them either a Certificate of Recognition or a sailboat plaque
for those who served a full nine year term.
The persons to be recognized tonight are as follows:
Certificates:
Planning Commission from 2011-2015, Adam Blahnik
2
Planning Commission from 2011-2015, Perri Hite
Parks Advisory from 2012-2015 Thomas Schutz
Lakes Advisory from 2012-2015, Dave Rech
Traffic Safety from 2012-2015, Dan Shower
Communication/Technology from 2012-2015, Scot Moncur
Economic Development from 2011-2015, Greg Schweich
Economic Development from 2012-2015, Mike Stout
Plaque:

Conclusion
We appreciate the contributions these citizens and all the current members
of our advisory committees devote to make the city better.
The Mayor will present the certificates and plaque to those board or
commission members in attendance at the meeting.
