AGENDA #: PREPARED BY: SUBJECT: DATE: BACKGROUND: ISSUES: ALTERNATIVES: STAFF AGENDA REPORT (/7 ~ 6 D i-V) \) FRANK BOYLES, CITY MANAGER 1\ \ / CONTINUATION OF BOARD OF REVIEW PUBLIC HEARING MAY 15,1995 At the May 5th Board of Review, twenty-two property owners appeared before the Council to express their concern about the valuation placed on their property as of January 2, 1995. County Assessor, Leroi Arnoldi, agreed at the hearing to review his records on each of these properties, and in some cases, revisit the properties as requested to verify his valuation. Mr. Arnoldi has confirmed that his report will be available to the City on Thursday, May 11. I will forward a copy of the report to Councilmembers together with the Update packet. County Assessor Arnoldi will review the contents of his report for the City Council at the continuation hearing on May 15. The City Council should consider Mr. Arnoldi's recommendations and determine whether it concurs with the valuation placed on each of the subject properties. The Council should then take action to confirm the Assessor's recommendation or to recommend some other value for the property. Council has the following alternatives: 1 . Approve the Assessor's report and valuations proposed. 2. Approve the Assessor's report modifying certain valuations based upon the justification which may be presented. RECOMMENDATION: Alternate one or two based upon the Council's findings and the report submitted by Mr. Arnoldi.
