DATE: INTRODUCTION: DISCUSSION: '" ALTERNATIVES: 4(t) DOUG HARTMAN, PRIOR LAKE FIRE DEPARTMENT CONSIDER APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION 95-83 AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF THE 1991 FORD AMBULANCE (597) AUGUST 21, 1995 The council was previously advised that the staff would be soliciting competitive bids for the sale of our ambulance which is now surplus following Healthspan's assumption of ambulance service. This agenda item requests council approval of this sale. On July 29, 1995 staff advertised for the sale of a 1991 Ford ambulance by competitive bid. The fire department staff contacted three specific suppliers who expressed interest in the ambulance. Estimates of vehicle value were also obtained from these vendors. The bid opening occurred on Tuesday, August 15, 1995 at 10:00 a.m. COT. Only one bid was received. The results are as follows: BIDDER BID Road Rescue $27,500.00 Retail. estimates confirmed that the value of the ambulance is between $20,000 and $30,000. In light of this fact, the single bid received appears to be reasonable. The alternatives are as follows: 1. Approve resolution 95-83 ordering the sale of the ambulance. 2. Table this item for a specific reason. 3. Reject the bid and have staff re-advertise for more favorable bidding in the future. 4. Reject the bid and do not sell the ambulance. 16200 Eagle Creek Ave., Prior Lake, Minnesota 55372-1714 / Ph.
