The acquisition includes both new and replacement equipment. On June 19, 1995, by Resolution 95-55, the City Council authorized advertisement for bids for city equipment for the Fire Department, Parks Department and the Public Works Department. CDT for the Parks and Public Works equipment. The bid opening for the Fire Truck was on Tuesday, August 8, 1995 at 10:30 A.M. Re-bidding of the Parks Tractor was advertised on August 5, 1995, with the bid opening occurring on Wednesday, August 16, 1995 at 10:30 AM.. Staff obtained bid prIcmg from the State of Minnesota Cooperative Purchasing Agreement (State Bid) for the following equipment: ITEM NEW /REPLACEMENT Truck Cab Chassis Dump Body for Cab Chassis Plow, Wing and Sander for Cab Chassis New New New 16200 Eagle Creek Ave., Prior Lake, Minnesota 55372-1714 / Ph. (612) 447-4230 / Fax (612) 447-4245 AN EQUAL OPPORTIJNrIY EMPLOYER ISSUES: In addition, staff obtained quotes for the purchase and installation of One Wing/Plow combination for the City's existing Front End Loader. It does meet the city's minimum specifications where as the lowest bid does not. Fund $380,000.00 $177 500.00 $557.500.00 The $380.000 shown above is the net amount of the bonds available after soft costs of the sale are deducted. The $177,500 reflects a contribution from the equipment fund in the amount of $150,000 plus the $27,500 provided from the sale of the 1991 Ambulance. The jet/vac is financed exclusively from the sewer and water enterprise fund. The Capital Improvement Program set aside $180,000 for this acquisition. The bid price was $155,300. Adopt resolution 95-75 approving the purchase of: fire pumper truck; 16' turf mower; tractor; truck with wing, plow and sander; tractor backhoe; front-end loader; wing & plow; and jet/vac. 2. Do not approve the budgeted items and have staff re-advertise for bids. 3. Table this item for a specific reason. 4. Reject the bids and do not purchase the equipment. The recommendation is to approve alternative # 1.
