HomeMy WebLinkAboutBuilding Security PolicyBUILDING SECURITY Implemented January 2012 RELATING TO VENDORS WITH ACCESS TO BUILD INGS The Bureau of Criminal Apprehension requires that any person having access to a police department shall either be escorted during their access or submit to the protoco l of providing identification and fingerprinting for the purpose of a background check. The background check results for vendor employees must be clear. In the event it is not, the following criteria will be considered: 1. The relationship of the crime to the position being sought. 2. The nature and seriousness of the crime(s) for which convicted. 3. All circumstances relative to the crime(s), including mitigating circumstances or special conditions surrounding the commission of the crime(s). 4. The age of the perso n at the time the crime(s) were committed. 5. The length of time elapsed since the crime(s) were committed. 6. All other competent evidence of rehabilitation and present fitness presented. The following convictions will be considered reason for disallowing a v endor employee access to the City of Prior Lake Police Department: 1. Any felony conviction. 2. Misdemeanors as applicable to the position sought. RELATING TO PUBLIC M EETING ROOM USERS WI TH ACCESS TO BUILDIN GS With specific approval of the City Manager, a hi gh frequency user may be identified to be assigned an access card for the purpose of conducting regular weekly meeting s in City Hall, located at 4646 Dakota Street SE, Prior Lake, MN. To retain the card, the user and his/her organization must remain in c ompliance with parameters set out in the Meeting Room Use Agreement including but not limited to: advance meeting scheduling and/or cancellation, not bracing the door open, cleanup, damage to the building, vandalism or theft from City Hall . The holder of the access card shall not transfer the card to another person , or in any other manner imply that the responsibilities set out in the Meeting Room Use Agreement can be transferred. In the event of any violation of the Meeting Room User Agreement or loss, the user will forfeit the privilege of room use. S hould the access card become lost or in some manner unusable, the holder of the card shall immediately contact the Administrative Assistant at 952.447.9803 so the card can be disabled and to receive a rep lacement card .
