A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE 2030 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN
REGARDING SUB-AREA D IN THE PLANNED USE DISTRICT

WHEREAS, Summit Preserve LLC has applied to the City of Prior Lake to amend the 2030
Comprehensive Plan to amend Sub-Area D in the Planned Use District from 75%
R-Medium Density and 25% Commercial to 100% R-Medium Density Residential;
and

The City Council desires to amend the 2030 Comprehensive Plan in order to allow
100% Medium Density Residential at 4.1 – 7.0 dwelling units per net acre,
recognizing that future commercial demand along CSAH 42 will be at or near the
CSAH 21/42 intersection; and
Summit Preserve LLC, upon approval of an amendment to the 2030
Comprehensive Plan, will proceed with preliminary plat, rezoning and conditional
use permit applications for a proposed R-2 development with a combination of
single family lots and cluster housing; and
WHEREAS, After a public hearing was held on May 2, 2016, the Planning Commission
recommended approval of the proposed amendment to the 2030 Comprehensive
Plan.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PRIOR LAKE,
MINNESOTA as follows:
1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein.
2. The City Council of Prior Lake approves an amendment to the 2030 Comprehensive Plan
amending Sub-Area D, Summit Preserve, in the Planned Use District from “75 percent R-
Medium Density; 25 percent Commercial” to “100 percent R-Medium Density”, subject to
Metropolitan Council approval, and authorizes city staff to submit such amendments to the
Metropolitan Council.
PASSED AND ADOPTED THIS 9th DAY OF MAY 2016.
