Request
Edelweiss Bakery is requesting approval of a Public
Property Use Permit (PPUP).
Edelweiss would like to place a fiberglass cow statute
in front of their business (16186 Main Avenue SE).
Proposed location is on a public sidewalk in the Main
Avenue ROW.
City Council approval of PPUP is required.
Statue
Length: 7.5 Feet
Height: 5.25 Feet
Width: 28 Inches

Safe Pedestrian Travel
Adequate pedestrian travel access required
Liability
PPUP indemnifies City
Insurance
Applicant shall maintain general liability insurance covering
damage to personal property and injury
City named as additional insured
Maintenance
Applicant and property owner shall maintain area around
statue; including snow removal and sweeping
Public Property Use Permit (cont’d)
Security
Statue will be attached to a ‘base’ for stability
Termination
City may terminate PPUP if in the opinion of the City, the statue:
Adversely interferes with sidewalk travel;
Is considered a hazard or danger to the public;
Becomes deteriorated or damaged;
Interferes with maintenance or construction projects; or
For any other reason
Precedent
Council may want to refer this item to an advisory committee for
review or to establish art/statue guidelines
Alternatives
Approval of the Public Property Use Permit Resolution
Refer this item to the appropriate body so that arts /
statue guidelines may be prepared
Take no action (denial of the PPUP request)
