RESOLUTION OF THE PRIOR LAKE PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDING THE CITY
COUNCIL DENY THE CUL-DE-SAC LENGTH VARIANCE FOR THE PRELIMINARY PLAT OF WILD
OAKS.
MOTION BY: LOFTUS SECOND BY: WUELLNER
WHEREAS:
the Prior Lake Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on August 28, and October 23,
1995 to consider an application from Bill Hayden of RCS Associates Inc., for a variance from
Subdivision Ordinance 87-10; and
WHEREAS:
the preliminary plat of Wild Oaks indicates a proposed 586' long cul-de-sac, (Wild Oaks
Terrace); and
WHEREAS:
Subdivision Ordinance 87-10, Section 6-6-2(E) specifies the m~ximum length of a cul-de-sac
shall be 500'; and
WHEREAS:
notice of the public heoxing on said Schematic PUD has been duly published in accordance with
the applicable Prior Lake Ordinances; and
WHEREAS:
the Planning Commission proceeded to hear all persons interested in the cul-de-sac length
variance; and
WHEREAS:
the Planning Commission found no demonstration of hardship to grant thc 86' cul-de-sac length
variance.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA, that it recommends the City Council deny the cul-de-sac length
variance which would have allowed for proposed Wild Oaks Terrace to be 586' instead of the maximum
500' cul-de-sac length requirement of the Subdivision Ordinance.
Passed and adopted this 23rd day of October, 1995.
