The one year deadline for your property was September 25, 2016. Since the connection has not been made, your property is in violation of City Code 705 and Section 4715.0310 of the State of Minnesota Plumbing Code. If connections are not made, the City can seek a court order from Scott County District Court to inspect each property and authorize the completion of the connections. If this process is required, the City will secure quotes, award a contract, assure the work is completed, and impose a special assessment for all the costs associated with the connection including an additional administrative fee for the coordination efforts toward making the connection. A copy of the original City letter dated 9/25/15,sent to you regarding the Utility connection project is attached. The letter included the ordinance requirement that the utility connection be completed within 1 year from the date of the letter or by the deadline date of 9/25/2016. The original letter also gave the costs for the Permit fees of either $5,828.00 for a 1" water meter for service or $5,738.00 for a 5/8"water meter for service. Fees have changedfor 2016 and the new connection permit fees have increased. Building Permit Fees are due at the time of building permit issuance.
