9 June 2016 Meeting Minutes

Meeting called to order at 4:05 pm by Linda
3. Approval of meeting Agenda: Motion to approve by Woody, 2nd by Linda; approval unanimous.

6. Old Business:..
Chief Elliott provided summary of enforcement activities during the last month. Focus was speed
enforcement in the city. Driver was cited on Hwy 13 for speeding at 60 mph. Also a citation issued for
DWI at one of the elementary schools. The city speed enforcement sign (using radar) is not working and a
permanent sign is desired like the signs in Savage on Cty Rd 44. PD is pursuing a grant from Centerpointe
energy for funding.
City funding to replace the mobile speed sign being pursued via city engineering departm ent. Approval
will go to the council next month. Should be in the works at our July meeting.
7. New Business
Chief Elliott discussed traffic issues in the city after the fireworks shows. The Prior Lake Association
show is scheduled at 10P at Watzl’s beach. And the SMSC display is planned at about the same time. This
creates a nightmare scenario at Cty 82, Cty 21 and Hwy 13. PLPD will approach the SMSC to delay
starting their show by about 15 minutes to help with traffic flow out of town.
Reviewed the new CSAC annual calendar prepared by Pat Dougherty. Continue discussion next month.
