In August the PLPD went to a new CAD and RMS system, as did the rest of the county. The system tracks many more police activities and calls than the previous system. As a result, the monthly calls in some categories and total calls are up significantly, mainly due to accounting for officers’ activity that was not accounted for before. We will try to extract these changes as we can best identify them in order to better provide a “last year to this year” comparison at the end of the year, it is my estimate that total incidents are up about 8% factoring in that comparison.
