About this study
This study was done so that a corridor could be selected for preservation for the future Minnesota River
Crossing. The crossing willconnect Hwy 169 and Hwy 212, near Hwy41.
MnDOT worked with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), local governmental units, the Metropolitan
Council, state and Heral resource agencies and other interested parties to study the need for and potential
impacts of this project.
Design details will be studied during a Tier ll Environmental lmpact Statement process that will occur closer to
construction, which is not anticipated for severalyears.

Status
. Study completed in 2015. No projects have been funded or planned.

"Forty years is not realistic, r want to stress that .it's not just to Shakopee'sbenefit," Lehman said. "rt's going to be a critical connection in the very nearfuture. rt's something you might want to keep on your radar."
Lewis said the idea of another crossing is certainly on his radar and something he
hopes to make a reality.
"The stars are in alignment a little bit right now for that and for aninfrastructure package we can pay for now without raising taxes," he said.
