HomeMy WebLinkAbout04 27 2017 EDAC minutes 1 4646 Dakota Street SE Prior Lake, MN 55372 CITY OF PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES – April 27, 2017 1. Call to Order The meeting was called to order at 7:30 a.m. in the Wagon Bridge Conference Room at Prior Lake City Hall. Members present: Lloyd Erbaugh, Jeff Petschl, Stephanie Carroll, Bill Henry, Ron Martin, Trisha Rosenfeld, Jim Mahoney, Wade Larson, EDA Liaison Kirt Briggs and Chamber Liaison Sandi Fleck. Staff present: Casey McCabe. Guest present: Marie Boucher-Hoese and Christin Boecker. 2. Approval of Meeting Minutes a. March 23, 2017 MOTION BY HENRY and SECOND BY PETSCHL to approve the March 23, 2017 meeting minutes. Motion adopted unanimously. 3. Old Business a. EDAC Commercial Area Liaison Update EDAC Members: reviewed a draft commercial area liaison report which will be presented to the EDA when completed. EDAC members were asked to provide additional information for each of their commercial areas to be included in the report and to provide two or three bullet points to be used as ‘trackers’ for future visits. Henry: asked that the CH21/Revere Ave. petition to encourage a full signalized intersection at that location be added to the Deerfield/Welcome Avenue section. Carroll: commented that she and Martin conducted additional visits in the South Lake Village area. Petschl: offered to update the EDAC flyer. EDAC Members: discussed the proposed construction projects at the intersection of Duluth Ave and Hwy 13. EDAC members requested information that can be shared with the businesses in the area so they are aware of the proposed construction activities and timeline. 4. New Business a. Christin Boecker, Open to Business Boecker: provided an overview of the Open to Business program, detailed the services and funding options available through the program and handed out business cards and pamphlets. Erbaugh: suggested the EDAC Marketing Subcommittee may be able to assist in the promotion of the Open to Business program in Prior Lake. 5. Other Business a. EDA Meeting Update McCabe: provided a summary of the April 17, 2017 EDA meeting which included the following agenda items: ➢ EDA Revenue & Expenditure Report (3/31/17) ➢ Development Update (3/31/2017) ➢ EDA Goals ➢ Joint EDA / City Council Meeting ➢ Joint EDA / Planning Commission Meeting ➢ Technology Village Update – Business Challenge ➢ Technology Village Phase II.4 Business Plan ➢ Appointment of Assistant Treasurer ➢ EDA Meeting Date Change – August 2017 b. Staff Update None. c. Residential and Commercial Activity Update EDAC Members: received a copy of the residential and commercial activity update as of March 31, 2017. d. Member Ideas/Recommendations None. 6. Next Meeting Date. The next regular meeting of the EDAC will be on Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 7:30 a.m. 7. Adjourn.
