AGENDA ITEM: PRESENTATIONS TO RETIRING COMMISSION AND COMMITTEE
MEMBERS
DISCUSSION: Introduction
The purpose of this agenda item is to recognize those board and committee
members who have donated their personal time on behalf of the community.
History
The City of Prior Lake has relied heavily on the participation of citizens to
complete the ongoing work of municipal government. Advisory committees
have been formed to make recommendations to the City Council and the
Economic Authority in the following areas:
Business Engagement (formerly Economic Development)
Citizen Engagement (committee created in 2017)
Communication/Technology (committee retired in 2017)
Community Safety
Lakes (committee retired in 2017)
Parks (committee retired in 2017)
Planning
Traffic Safety
Most committees have a monthly meeting schedule. Committees and their
members perform in accordance with annually reviewed bylaws. Members may
serve up to nine years or three, three year terms.
Current Circumstances
Each year some committee members decide to retire, come to the end of a
term or reach their term limit. For those individuals, we host an all committee
dinner as occurred earlier this evening. At tonight’s City Council meeting we
would like to recognize outgoing committee members by conveying to them
either a Certificate of Recognition or a sailboat plaque for those who served a
full nine-year term.
The persons to be recognized tonight are as follows:
Certificates:
•CSAC Betsy Jader 11/11-10/17
•CTAC Erik Juhl 11/14-11/17
•CTAC Don Breidenbach 11/14-10/17

our advisory committees devote to make the city better.
