HomeMy WebLinkAbout18-016 Prior Lake Polar Palooza Community Festival 4646 Dakota Street SE Prior Lake, MN 55372 RESOLUTION 18-016 A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE “PRIOR LAKE POLAR PALOOZA” A COMMUNITY FESTIVAL Motion By: Thompson Second By: Braid WHEREAS, the City of Prior Lake promotes tourism and community festivals to foster a sense of community and promote the vitality of area businesses; and, WHEREAS, The Super Bowl is to be played at the U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota which will result in considerable numbers of tourists visiting the area from January 31 to February 3, 2018 who may be interested in visiting the city; and, WHEREAS, WHEREAS, City representatives together with area business persons and the Prior Lake Area Chamber of Commerce have planned events to be conducted within the City of Prior Lake in conjunction with the Super Bowl; and, Collectively these events are referred to as “The Prior Lake Polar Palooza.” NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA as follows: 1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein. 2. The City Council hereby declares the Prior Lake Polar Palooza to be a community festival. 3. Hooligans is hereby authorized to sell and serve liquor within the South Lake Village Mall as part of the “Minnesota Experience” which will take place on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 5pm to 8pm. 4. Sales shall be conducted within the mall area, with suitable security to assure that minors may not purchase or consume liquor products, that servers have received state required training and that access and egress to the mall area shall not allow liquor to be brought on the site or consumed outside of the mall area designated for this event. 5. All liquor sales shall be conducted in compliance with any additional requirements the police chief deems necessary.
