PRESENTATION:
A portion of the mission statement for our 2030 Vision and Strategic Plan is to
enhance the quality of life for current and future citizens by..."the promotion of
partnerships, volunteerism and civic pride for the community's diverse
population." Tonight we will recognize several young men who epitomize that
spirit.
Reaching Eagle Scout status is quite a significant achievement and only about
four percent of all Boy Scouts reach this level. Eagle Scout is a performance-
based achievement with high standards. Eagle Scouts have demonstrated a
mastery of skills including first aid, citizenship, communications, environmental
science, personal fitness, personal management, camping, and family life up
to a minimum of 21 merit badges. They participate in increasingly more
responsible service projects and demonstrate leadership abilities.
Eagle Scouts Alex Larson, John Spies and Thomas Walsh from Troop 331;
and Jake Howard and Breagan Shoquist from Troop 339 will open the Council
meeting by Calling and Presenting the Colors and leading us in the Pledge of
Allegiance.
