!Dear Mr. Johnson:
~ inspected the porch decks and have photographed them and include herewith specifications for the
re-construction of those porches. Some porch decks are very similar and some are different. The
~eneral specifications are for all decks and where the specifications differ, the specification for the
particular deck will refer to the photograph attached to this letter specification.
General Specifications
~ All lumber except railing and decking shall be No.2 - SPF 0.40 Treated timbers.
~ All decking and railing shall be F4F Cedar.
. All posts shall be 6"x6" timber column.
~ Railing shall conform to mc 2000 requirements.

Photo I West Side - Single Deck
. Joists shall be 2"xI0" - 1'-0" on center (o.c.). Hangars to support 600#.
~ Side Rim Joist and End Rim Joist shall be 2 - 2"xI0"s.
. One End Rim Joist shall be notched into the post and the other shall be outside the post. At
building, hangar to support 1800#.
. The Side Rim Joists shall be flush with the outside of the post.

Photo 3 North Side - East Deck
