The incident case reports listed are just a sampling of the 24 crime index categories included in the Uniform Crime
Report and selected call classifications as requested by the City Council for tracking, therefore the totals of the
selected categories will not add up to the total number of incidents shown on the last line above.
The police department has been using the LETG Record Management system for two years now and comparisons
year to year are now reported in the same system, so the comparisons should be vastly similar given the information
is gathered and reported in the same system for each category.
Heat maps as requested by council, are able to be provided through the new RMS system and additional crime
mapping software. Additionally, public access to crime maps was rolled out in June of 2017. Links to the crime maps
are provided on the police department webpage and at www.communitycrimemap.com
Total calls for service for the month of October were down 10% from last October, year to date
calls are up by 6%. Year to date we have seen some decreases in burglaries and thefts this year,
although robberies are up.
