III. Stemmer Ridge Speeding/Traffic Education (Nick Monserud, Assistant City Engineer )
Nick gave an overview of the project and said the Safety Committee reviewed the proje ct in
October.
One of the biggest concerns in the neighborhood was an increase of speed and Annette
explained there are many (100s) of kids.
Nick explained the speed study process of Stemmer Ridge. After hearing concerns from the
neighborhood steps were ta ken to help reduce speed including installing bump outs which
narrows the width of the road.
Nick mentioned there is a good chance that most of the people speeding on this road are
residents in the neighborhood.
Jessica recommended a Park Party in the neig hborhood at Howard Lake to inform residents
of the speed study.
Everyone agreed it would be a good idea to send out a mailer to the neighborhood that
there was a speed study done by their request with the results.
Jessica suggested if we use Nextdoor, the message should come from a neighbor.
