SUMMARY: The Ordinance
amends Chapters 5 and 8 of
the City Code relating to public
safety. The Ordinance renames
and reorganizes Chapters 5 and
8 and updates language and
regulations relating to animals,
the Fire Code, general offenses,
dangerous weapons, false alarms
and emergency management.
This ordinance shall become
effective from and after its
passage and publication.

a.m. Tuesday, July 28, and 5:00
p.m. Tuesday, August 11, for
the upcoming General Election
November 3. City offices open
for election are Mayor and three
seats on the City Council. Two of
the open seats on the City Council
are currently held by Zach Braid
and Kevin Burkart. Those elected
for either of those two seats
will serve from January 2021 to
January 2025. The third open seat
is a Special Election to fill the
vacancy of Warren Erickson's
seat. Whomever is elected for
the vacant seat will serve from
January 2021 until January 2023.
Filing for office is a step to get
your name on a ballot and declare
vour intention to run. Candidates
must file in person with the City
Clerk at City Hall, 4646 Dakota
St. SE. A packet and campaign
manual are available at www.
cityofpriorlake.com/election. The
filing fee is $5.
The deadline to withdraw
from the .election is 5 p.m.
Thursday, August 13. After that
date, all names will appear on
the ballot.
The Mayor and City Council
are responsible for the strategic
direction of the City government
through policies and ordinances
that are carried out by the City
Manager. The City Council is
responsible for budgeting and
taxation and is accountable for
listening and making decisions
on behalf of the residents of
Prior Lake.
Those elected in November
will take the oath of office Tuesday,
January 5, 2021, joining Council
Member Annette Thompson on
the City Council.

SUMMARY, The Ordinance
amends Section 403 (Residential
Swimming Pools) of the Prior
Lake City Code. Amendments
include a definition for
Temporary Above Ground
Swimming Pools; language which
excepts temporary above ground
swimming pools from requiring
a permit; and other clarifying
language.
This ordinance shall become
effective from and after its
passage and publication.
Passed by the City Council of
the City of Prior Lake this 20th
day of July 2020.

2. PUBLIC FORUM The
public forum is intended to afford
the public an opportunity to
address concerns to the City
Council. The public forum will
be no longer than 30 minutes in
length and each presenter will
have no more thanfive (5) minutes
to speak. Topics of discussion are
restricted to City governmental
topics rather than private or
political agendas. Topics may be
addressed at the public forum
that are on the agenda. However,
topics that are the subject of a
public hearing are best addressed
at the public hearing, not at public
forum. Therefore, topics may not
be addressed at public forum if: (I)
the topic has been the subject of
a public hearing before the City
Council or any City Advisory
Committee and the Council has

amends Chapters 5 and 8 of
the City Code relating to public
safety. The Ordinance renames

8 and updates language and
regulations relating to animals,

dangerous weapons, false alarms
and emergency management.
This ordinance shall become
