RESOLUTION 22-056 A RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE FIRE STATION 1 REMODEL PROJECT Motion By: Burkhart Second By: Thompson
WHEREAS, A remodel of Fire Station 1 is necessary to accommodate the new full-time staff that will be housed in that facility starting in 2023; and WHEREAS, the project includes the remodel of the kitchen and training/great room, the creation of five (5) duty crew dorm rooms, the creation of a new fitness room, and the purchase and relocation of a new generator with all necessary code upgrades; and WHEREAS, ten (10) bids were received and publicly read on April 7, 2022; and WHEREAS, the lowest bidder is Century Construction Co., a reputable contractor with experience in remodels of this nature; and WHEREAS, the City’s consulting architect, Oertel Architects, recommends awarding the contract to Century Construction Co. in the amount of $542,600. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA as follows: 1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein.
2. The Mayor and City Manager are hereby authorized to execute the City’s standard contract for services with Century Construction Co. in the amount of $542,600.
3. ARPA funds will be used to pay for the City’s portion of the project costs. Credit River and
Spring Lake Township will be paying their proportional share of the project cost per the existing Fire Agreement. Passed and adopted by the Prior Lake City Council this 18th day of April 2022. VOTE Briggs Thompson Burkart Braid Churchill
