RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Proclaim June 28th, 2022, as Dave Carlson and John Conant Day in Prior Lake in recognition
of their 37 years of service operating T.J. Hooligan's Restaurant and serving the residents of
Prior Lake.

PROCLAMATION
DECLARING JUNE 28TH, 2022 AS
DAVE CARLSON AND JOHN CONANT DAY IN PRIOR LAKE
NOW THEREFORE, I, KIRT BRIGGS, MAYOR OF THE CITY OF PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA hereby proclaim June 28th,
2022, as DAVE CARLSON AND JOHN CONANT DAY in the City of Prior Lake, Minnesota.

WHEREAS, Tim and Janine Millette opened TJ Hooligan’s in Prior Lake on January 9, 1983, that was then acquired by Dave Carlson and
John Conant in August of 1985, and
WHEREAS,

WHEREAS,
Dave Carlson and John Conant have served their patrons continuously over the past 37 years, through two remodels and a
pandemic, by offering an extensive menu that has something for everyone in the family, and,
Dave Carlson and John Conant, have given back generously to the community through charitable and sport team fundraising as
well as supporting families with a loved one suffering from personal illness, and
Dave Carlson and John Conant have steadfastly supported those in our community suffering from the challenges of substance
abuse. Most specifically, by providing employment opportunities and by hosting Adult and Teen Challenge Minnesota
Participants on Christmas Day that were not able to be with their families, and,
Dave Carlson and John Conant viewed other restaurants as collaborators, supporting them through mentorship and willingly
offering their supplies when others ran short, and
Their nostalgic atmosphere made them the most talked about restaurant south of the river in 1985, and
Dave Carlson and John Conant did not hire employees; they added family members, many staying over 20 years, sharing “It’s a
family you don’t want to leave”; and
