HomeMy WebLinkAbout22-083 City Manager 2022 Employment Agreement Amendment RESOLUTION 4646 Dakota Street SE Prior Lake, MN 55372 RESOLUTION 22 -083 ADOPT A RESOLUTION APPROVING AN AMENDMENT TO THE CITY MANAGER’S 2022 EMPLOYMENT AGREEMENT Motion By: Thompson Second By: Churchill WHEREAS, the City Manager and the City Council on behalf of the City of Prior Lake entered into an employment agreement commencing on October 14, 2019; and WHEREAS, the City Council conducted a performance evaluation of the City Manager on January 18, 2022 for the year 2021; and WHEREAS, the performance evaluation was deemed satisfactory and warranted the continuation of employment for the year 2022; and WHEREAS, WHEREAS, WHEREAS, the City recently revised Section 63: Vacation of the City’s Personnel Policy for exempt employees to adjust the maximum annual vacation accrual carryover from 2.5 to 1.5 times the annual accrual rate as of December 31, 2022; and the unique nature and demands of the City Manager position can make it difficult to utilize the full annual allotment of vacation days in a given year; and the City Manager’s employment agreement is amended to include language that will pay out up to two weeks (80 hours) of any excess vacation balance above the annual accrual allowance to the City Manager on the first paycheck of the new contract year. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA as follows: 1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein. 2. The City Manager’s 2022 Employment Agreement shall be amended to add a provision to pay out the City Manager for any unused vacation balance up to two weeks above the annual carry-over rate.
