RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Adopt a resolution approving the updated Public Works Design Manual and City Standard
Construction Specifications.
BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Design Manual (PWDM) and City Standard Construction Specifications
(Specifications) are technical references for residents, developers and their engineers for design
and construction within the City of Prior Lake. The PWDM and Specifications incorporate industry
engineering and construction standards that have been refined by Public Works Staff over the
last several years. The PWDM is referenced as a standard in City Code.
Both the PWDM and Specifications are subject to change as standards and technology changes.
Our standards are based on a number of technical documents and rules from agencies such as
the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT), the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency
(MPCA), the Department of Natural Resources (DNR), the Metropolitan Council, the Prior Lake
City of Prior Lake I 4646 Dakota Street SE I Prior Lake MN 55372
