HomeMy WebLinkAbout22-125 Receive quotes and award contract for pump replacement at the Sunset, Deerfield, and Estate lift stations 4646 Dakota Street SE Prior Lake, MN 55372 RESOLUTION 22-125 A RESOLUTION RECEIVING QUOTES AND AWARDING THE CONTRACT FOR THE PUMP REPLACEMENT AT THE SUNSET, DEERFIELD, AND ESTATE LIFT STATIONS Motion By: Thompson Second By: Churchill WHEREAS, the Sunset, Deerfield, and Estate lift stations each have at least one pump that is more than 20 years old; and WHEREAS, lift station pumps are generally recommended for replacement or rehabilitation every 15-20 years; and WHEREAS, these lift stations are at risk of failure due to aging equipment and excessive wear and tear; and WHEREAS, the Sunset and Estate lift stations are key “collector sites” that receive wastewater flow from several other lift stations before pumping it through to the Met Council system; and WHEREAS, all city lift stations are currently outfitted with Flygt pumps, and it is the city’s desire to maintain uniformity in the pumps and controls; and WHEREAS, staff received quotes from Electric Pump, the proprietary vendor for Flygt pumps, for the replacement of the pumps; and WHEREAS, Electric Pump is a reputable and experienced contractor in the industry and has completed previous lift station rehabilitation projects for the City; and WHEREAS, Staff recommends awarding the contract to Electric Pump. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF PRIOR LAKE, MINNESOTA as follows: 1. The recitals set forth above are incorporated herein. 2. The City Council authorizes a contract with Electric Pump in the amount of $71,546 for the pump replacements at the Sunset, Deerfield, and Estate sanitary sewer lift stations. 3. Funding will come from the Sewer Utility Fund 604-49450.00-52200.82. Passed and adopted by the Prior Lake City Council this 17th day of October 2022.
